I have exciting news! Ayako Lloyd from the Lexington Ballet will be joining us next week as guest teacher. Here is a little more about Ayako.
Ayako Hasebe Lloyd is from Japan, and began her training at Van Metre School of Dance in Tennessee and continued at Koshizuka Natsuko Ballet School in Japan. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance from Butler University. Ayako has attended the Vaganova Seminar in St. Petersburg, Russia, where she studied with renowned professors from Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory. She has also trained with Orlando Ballet School and Parsons Dance Company. Ayako danced professionally with The Lexington Ballet Company for 10 years. Some of her repertoire includes the title role of Cinderella, The Dying Swan, Myrtha in Giselle, Caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland, Nurse in Romeo and Juliet, Mazurka variation from Les Sylphides, Prayer in Coppélia, Dew Drop Fairy, Arabian, Spanish soloist, Chinese soloist, and Marzipan in The Nutcracker, and various roles created by Luis Dominguez. Ayako is passionate about passing on the dance art form to the next generation, and enjoys every moment of teaching. She is currently a faculty at The Lexington Ballet School and Town&Village School of Dance. She recently completed the American Ballet Theater National Training Curriculum(Pre-Primary to Level 3) in New York. She has been a guest teaching artist with Kentucky Governor’s School of Arts, The Lexington Theater Company, and surrounding schools in Kentucky.
In order to give our students the best experience and to make the most of our time with Ayako, we will be adjusting our schedule next week to allow for longer Ballet and Pointe classes.

I know this experience with Ayako will inspire our students and enrich their experience with us here at The Dance Centre, and I am just thrilled that I was able to make this happen.
