As we are heading further into November, I thought it was the perfect time to do a post about Holidazzle 2019 and the Williamsburg Christmas Parade. Keep reading for all the details!
First up...Holidazzle 2019!
This years’ Holidazzle production will be held at the University of the Cumberlands’ Gatliff Chapel on Saturday, December 14 at 3:00 p.m. Dress rehearsal will be on Friday, December 13. Dress Rehearsal Schedules and Holidazzle costmes will all be given out in class this week! We are so happy with all of this years' costumes, and can't wait to see everyone on stage!
Tights: We have a Holidazzle tights order form in the lobby and will be taking orders for tights through November 15. Dancers in Toddlers in Tutus, Creative Ballet, CreativeCombo, and KinderCombo will need Ballet Pink tights. Dancers in Levels II-!V will need Tan/Nude tights. Please make sure you purchase actual dance tights for your performance tights. Panty hose or tights from the children's section of chain stores are not the right color and will stand out on the stage. They also have a line at thigh that is very noticeable and distracting.
Holidazzle T-shirts: You have seen Holidazzle T-Shirt order forms in the lobby for the last few weeks, but I wanted to give you a little more information about those. Holidazzle T-Shirts will be the design you see below. These make a wonderful keepsake and are festive to wear during the Christmas and Winter season. We will be taking orders for Holidazzle T-shirts through November 15. Parents and other friends and family are welcome to order shirts, too. We will not order extra shirts, so please make sure you put your order in if you think you might want one!
Next up...Williamsburg Christmas Parade…
The Williamsburg Christmas Parade is Dec. 14, after Holidazzle. It will start at Williamsburg City School, go straight down Main Street, and end at Bill Woods Park. The parade will start at 6. We will meet behind Main Street Baptist Church 30 minutes before the parade starts. Jazz classes will be rehearsing and performing a Pom routine. Mike Meadors is very generously creating a float for smaller dancers and those not in Jazz that may still want to be in the Christmas Parade. Any participants wishing to ride on the float must have a parent or guardian accompany them, either on the float, or following behind.
Attire for parade: Jeans, warm, comfortable shoes, TDC Hoodie, red parade beanie, and poms. You may layer under these items to stay warm. You may also wear gloves. The poms and beanies will be supplied by The Dance Centre will be turned back in right after the parade is over.
TDC Hoodies: We have TDC Hoodies available for you again this year and are currently taking orders for these in the lobby at The Dance Centre. These Hoodies are black with a silver glitter "The Dance Centre" on the front. This design is the exact same design we used last year, so if you have last year's you do not need to purchase one this year unless you need a different size, etc. These Hoodies are available to all students and parents and are very comfortable to wear all winter long! We will be taking orders for TDC Hoodies through November 14.
I hope this helps answer any questions you didn't know you had yet ;) about our upcoming Holiday performances this season. I am very excited for a fun, Christmas-y day! As always, please let me know if you have any other questions.
Happy Dancing! (And Flipping!),
Ms. Lindsay
